• WHAT IS SAHAMATI?

SAHAMATI officeSAHAMATI is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making member based social development organization committed for equitable development. It was established by a group of development workers/professionals having long experiences in community development in different parts of Nepal i.e. terrain, hills and Himalayan areas. It has been registered at the District Administration Office Nawalparasi under the organization registration act 2034 and is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council and NGO Federation of Nepal, Federation of Democratice NGOs and Peaceful Schools International, Canada.

Its activities are governed by a General Assembly composed by its individual members. The General Assembly elects the executive committee, which is responsible for the implementation of the organizational policies and activities through its members and regular staff. The organization documents it's learning and disseminates to a broader sphere by organizing workshops, seminars and trainings.

Presently, SAHAMATI has launched different programs to achieve its objectives such as group formation in local community, child education, savings and credit, income generating activities for members, promotion of health cooperative, women empowerment, capacity building, welfare activities, micro enterprise development, organization development and networking with the line agencies.

SAHAMATI is located in Gaindakot VDC, which is near the bank of the Narayani River and in the bed of the Mahabharat Range. It is 150 km southwest from the capital city, Kathmandu and 4km west from Narayanghat.
